1 person dead after being hit by BART train in Hayward

HAYWARD, CA – One person died after they were struck by a BART train in the Hayward area this afternoon, according to information from ABC 7 News.

The collision happened south of the Hayward Station at around 3:50 p.m., when a person was struck by a train after reportedly gaining access to the tracks.

The victim, who was not immediately identified, was pronounced dead after the collision.

Train service on the Berryessa Line was significantly delayed between South Hayward Station and Bay Fair Station as authorities worked the scene.
