East Sacramento crash leaves pedestrian dead

SACRAMENTO, CA – A two-vehicle accident in east Sacramento resulted in the death of a woman who was walking nearby, KCRA reports. 

The accident occurred at the intersection of 60th Street and Folsom Boulevard around 1:30 p.m. on Thursday afternoon. Two vehicles collided in the intersection and struck the victim as she attempted to cross the street, leaving her pinned under one of the cars.

Bystanders rushed to try the trapped woman and she was taken to a local hospital. A short time later, she passed away. She was a 45-year-old mother walking to pick up her kids from a nearby school.

Both drivers remained on the scene and cooperated with the police investigation.
