Crash on Richmond-San Rafael bridge leaves one dead

RICHMOND, CA – A collision on the Richmond-San Rafael bridge left one driver dead on Wednesday evening, NBC Bay Area reports. 

The accident occurred in the middle of the bridge around 7 p.m.

A semi-truck and a sedan collided, causing the truck to burst into flames. The truck driver was able to free himself but the driver of the sedan became trapped and died at the scene.

Police kept the bridge closed for several hours as they cleaned up the scene.
