SAN BRUNO, CA – At least 13 people were injured after a train struck a construction vehicle in San Bruno on Thursday morning, CBS San Francisco reports.
The crash ignited the train’s fuel tank and caused a massive fireball. A total of 13 people were injured, including five who required hospitalization. None of the injuries appear to be life-threatening.
The train’s conductor guided passengers off the train and none of the 75 passengers on the train were injured. The victims included Caltrain employees who were working in the construction equipment.
It is not clear at this time why the equipment was on the tracks.
