Woman struck by car, killed in Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, CA – A woman was killed in Bakersfield on Saturday night as she attempted to cross a street, Bakersfield Now reports. 

The victim was walking in the intersection of H Street and Isil Avenue outside of a crosswalk when she was hit by a vehicle around 8 p.m.

She was rushed to the hospital, where she later succumbed to her injures. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with police. Drugs and alcohol are not suspected to be a factor in the collision.
