BAKERSFIELD, CA – A driver who was injured in a crash with a tanker truck has passed away, KGET reports.
The accident occurred on Friday morning as the victim travelled east on Kimberlina Road near Highway 43. Around 6 a.m. he lost control of his SUV and entered the westbound lanes.
He then crashed into a tanker truck head-on. The truck driver swerved to avoid the crash but was unable to do so.
The 57-year-old victim was not wearing a seat belt and was rushed to the hospital with severe injuries. On Monday, he passed away.
The truck driver was not hospitalized.
