BAKERSFIELD, CA – A 22-year-old woman was killed after being struck by a car on Highway 99 in Bakersfield, KGET reports.
The victim was walking in the northbound lanes of the highway around 3:40 a.m. when she was struck by a vehicle near Planz Road.
A driver in a Honda attempted to avoid the collision but was unable to avoid the victim. She was taken to Kern Medical Center with serious injuries and later passed away.
