Narrative
GUSTINE, CA – A three-month-old baby, a 67-year-old man, and a 69-year-old woman lost their lives when their Ford Expedition was struck head-on by a Ford Explorer driver Friday. This collision occurred in the area of Highway 140 and Kniebes Road. California Highway Patrol confirmed that Robert Pimental, 40, said his Ford Expedition left his lane. He tried to correct his vehicle but ended up going into the opposite lane and hitting the other vehicle. Pimental was impaired and arrested for DUI after he was sent to a hospital. Four other passengers from the Expedition were sent to the hospital for moderate to major injuries. The 67-year-old man was identified as Nicholas Leyva, the woman as Maria Leyva, and the baby as Celeste Leyva.
