Narrative
SAN BENITO CO., CA – A wrong-way collision in north-central San Benito County killed three people and injured two others on Tuesday.
The accident happened shortly before 7 p.m. west of Lake Road on Shore Road, which is just southeast of Frazier Lake Airpark in Hollister. This about 45 miles southeast of San Jose.
Police say that a westbound vehicle collided head-on with an eastbound vehicle on Shore Road. It’s not yet clear what caused the driver of the westbound car to lose control of the vehicle.
Two adults and a teenager from the wrong-way vehicle died at the scene of the crash. Authorities have not yet released the names of the deceased.
Medics airlifted a fourth occupant from the wrong-way vehicle and the driver of the eastbound vehicle to an area hospital with serious injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.
