Bicyclist severely injured in collision with SUV in Torrey Pines

SAN DIEGO, CA – A woman riding a bicycle was hospitalized following a collision with an SUV in the Torrey Pines area of San Diego on Saturday morning, according to information from FOX 5 San Diego.

The collision happened in the 10900 block of N Torrey Pines Road near Science Park Road when a 55-year-old woman riding a bicycle reportedly swerved into the pathway of a Toyota Rav-4 being driven by a 79-year-old woman. The bicycle and the SUV then collided.

The bicyclist was taken to the hospital to receive treatment for serious, non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver was not reported as injured.

Police do not believe that intoxication played a factor in the crash, and their investigation continues at this time.
