BAKERSFIELD, CA – A pedestrian was killed in southwest Bakersfield on Friday night after being struck by a vehicle on Taft Highway. According to Bakersfield Now, the woman was struck on the 2300 block of Taft Highway around 11 p.m. She sustained serious injuries and died at the scene. BAKERSFIELD, CA – An accident involving a motorcycle and a truck left the motorcyclist seriously injured in Bakersfield on Thursday afternoon. According to KGET, the accident occurred at the intersection of Planz Road and Agate Street. The victim was attempting to make a turn onto Agate Street when he crashed into an eastbound truck. MCFARLAND, CA – A collision on Highway 99 left two people dead and a third injured in McFarland early Sunday morning, KGET reports.  The crash occurred in the northbound lanes of Highway 99, in the area north of Highway 46, around 2:30 a.m. For reasons that are not clear at this time, a vehicle rear-ended a semi truck. BAKERSFIELD, CA – Traffic was disrupted in Bakersfield on Wednesday morning after a crash involving a car and a PG&E truck, KGET reports. The crash occurred around 7:15 a.m. near the intersection of 24th Street and H Street. Police believe that a blue car made an unsafe lane change and struck the PG&E truck while both vehicles attempting to drive east.  The blue car rolled over as a result of the crash but no one in either vehicle was injured. BAKERSFIELD, CA – A man was killed in southeast Bakersfield on Tuesday night after being struck by a vehicle, KGET reports. The victim was attempting to walk across South Edison Road when he was struck by a northbound Toyota that was travelling at 55 miles per hour. The pedestrian was killed at the scene. BUTTONWILLOW, CA – Two people were killed in Buttonwillow on Saturday night after two vehicles collided head-on, Bakersfield Now reports. The crash occurred on 33 north of Lerdo Highway around 5 p.m. A 2009 Honda was travelling north, when the driver lost control and entered the southbound lanes, striking a 2003 Toyota. The Honda’s driver and a male passenger died in the crash. The Toyota driver sustained moderate injuries and was hospitalized. It is unclear what caused the Honda to enter the southbound lanes.
