Driver arrested after Sonoma crash leaves 16-year-old dead

SONOMA, CA – A 16-year-old boy was killed after a DUI suspect caused a crash on Highway 116 in Sonoma, according to KSRO. 

The crash occurred on Sunday morning around 11 a.m. near Watmaugh Road. A 24-year-old man was driving a Cadillac recklessly and weaving through traffic. The Cadillac then crashed head-on with and SUV, which spun it into two other vehicles.

A 16-year-old passenger in the Cadillac was killed in the crash. The driver of the Cadillac and another 16-year-old passenger were airlifted to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.

Two other drivers suffered minor injuries as a result of the crash. The Cadillac driver was arrested on suspicion of felony driving under the influence of drugs.
