Florence hit-and-run leave mother and 3-year-old son injured

FLORENCE, CA – A 3-year-old boy and his mother were injured in a hit-and-run in Florence on October 1st, according to KTLA. 

The accident occurred as they attempted to use a crosswalk at the intersection of Broadway and 80th Street. A black SUV came speeding north on Broadway when it struck the two of them.

The boy sustained life-threatening injuries and required surgury. The mother suffered minor injuries. The driver sped away without stopping to help.

Police are currently searching for the driver.
