Head-on collision in Lancaster leaves driver dead

LANCASTER, CA – A driver was killed on Tuesday night following a head-on collision in Lancaster, local news reports.

The victim was driving north on Sierra Highway in a 2017 Nissan Sentra when he entered the south lane to attempt to pass a 2008 Honda Pilot.

The Sentra then struck a southbound 2001 Toyota 4-Runner head-on and overturned. The 29-year-old man was not wearing a seat belt and was killed at the scene.

The 4-Runner also overturned before being struck by the Pilot. Its 62-year-old driver sustained moderate injuries. Two women in the Pilot were also injured.
