Hit-and-run leaves woman dead in south L.A.

LOS ANGELES, CA – A woman was killed in south Los Angeles after being struck by a hit-and-run driver on Friday, local news reports. 

The victim was attempting to cross Vermont Avenue near 186th Street when she was struck by a northbound vehicle.

When first responders arrived they pronounced the woman dead at the scene. The vehicle responsible was described as a dark, mid-sized sedan.

Police are still searching for the driver and vehicle involved.
