Narrative
BURBANK, CA – One person died late Saturday night in a two-vehicle crash caused by speeding in Burbank.
The incident occurred around 11:15 p.m. in the area of Vanowen Street and Hollywood Way, which is just southeast of Hollywood Burbank Airport.
Police say that both a white Scion and a Toyota Corolla were speeding eastbound when they collided at the intersection and then went on to hit a fire hydrant and a utility pole. The force of the crash threw the driver of the Scion from his vehicle, and he died at the scene.
Authorities have not yet released the name of the victim.
The driver of the Corolla was also hurt, but officials say he did not require hospitalization.
A full investigation is underway.
