One dead after rollover accident on Highway 99

FRESNO, CA – A man was killed near Fresno on Saturday following a rollover accident on Highway 99, local news reports. 

The victim was a 55-year-old man who was driving a silver Toyota Tacoma in the northbound lanes of Highway 99. Witnesses say that he was speeding and attempting to pass on the shoulder when he lost control of his truck and rolled down the embankment.

The driver was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from his truck. He died at the scene. Police are unsure whether drugs or alcohol were involved.
