One killed in Jamul when boat falls off trailer

JAMUL, CA – A woman was killed in Jamul on Saturday when a boat fell off a trailer on the road, Fox 5 San Diego reports. 

The incident occurred on Honey Springs Road around 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. The boat trailer was being towed behind a  2000 Mazda B300 driven by a 28-year-old man when it fell off and struck a 2016 Fiat 500.

The 49-year-old woman driving the Fiat suffered serious injuries and was taken to the hospital, where she died a few hours later. Her husband, who was a passenger, sustained minor injuries.

The Mazda driver was arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence.
