Pedestrian killed by flying Tesla in Kearney Mesa

KEARNEY MESA, CA – A woman was killed in Kearney Mesa on Tuesday morning when a Tesla went flying in a Kearney Mesa intersection.

According to NBC San Diego, the accident occurred at the intersection of Convoy Street and Othello Avenue. A 39-year-old man was driving a Tesla when he ran a red light and his car went airborne in the intersection and struck a woman attempting to cross Convoy Street.

The driver was arrested and charged with gross vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence of drugs and causing bodily injury.
