Pedestrian killed crossing street in San Jose

SAN JOSE, CA – A man was killed while attempting to cross the street in San Jose on Saturday night, local news reports. 

The accident happened around 7:40 p.m. on North Jackson Avenue near Mather Drive. As the victim attempted to cross the street he was struck by a Toyota SUV.

The victim, a 69-year-old man, was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he later died. The driver of the Toyota called 911 and cooperated with the investigation.

It is not clear at this time whether the driver will face charges.
