Narrative
ORANGEVALE, CA – A man died on Monday after a vehicle struck him at an intersection in northeast Sacramento County.
The incident happened around 7:50 a.m. on Hazel Avenue just south of the intersection with Greenback Lane near Ashford Point and Blossom Vale Senior Living.
Police say that for unknown reasons, a southbound Ford Fusion hit a man that was standing on the center median of Hazel Avenue.
The pedestrian died after transport to a local hospital. Authorities have not yet released his identity to the public.
The driver of the Fusion stopped at the scene to render aid and speak with police.
A full investigation is underway.
