ORANGE, CA – Three people were killed and four were injured after a driver suspected of DUI crashed in Orange on Saturday morning.
According to ABC 7, the accident occurred around 2:45 a.m. at the intersection of Glassell Street and Taft Avenue.
All seven victims were traveling in a 2005 Nissan Altima at speeds exceeding 100 MPH. Police attempted to stop the vehicle, but the 19-year-old driver didn’t stop and eventually struck a guardrail, flipping the car.
None of the seven occupants were wearing seat belts and all were ejected from the vehicle as it burst into flames. Three were killed in the crash, including a 14-year-old girl.
The remaining four occupants, including the driver, were all hospitalized. The driver and two others are currently in critical condition.
Police believe the driver and occupants were high on nitrous oxide at the time of the crash. They also believe alcohol may have been a factor.
