FRESNO, CA – A three-vehicle crash involving two suspected drunk drivers left a woman seriously injured in Fresno on Sunday morning.
According to the Fresno Bee, the victim was a passenger in a white Chevy truck that was rear-ended by a Chevy Cruze at a red light on Chestnut Avenue just south of Highway 180 around 1:45 a.m.
When the woman got out of her vehicle to talk to the driver of the Chevy she was struck by a grey Lexus and sustained significant head and upper body injuries. She is currently in stable condition.
A police investigation revealed that the drivers of the Chevy and the Lexus were both intoxicated. One, a 36-year-old man, was charged with being an intoxicated driver while causing injury/death, driving with a 0.08% alcohol level while causing death/injury and a misdemeanor allegation of driving with a suspended license. The other, a 50-year-old man, was charged with being an intoxicated driver causing injury/death and driving with a 0.08% alcohol level causing death/injury.
