Woman killed by DUI suspect in Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, CA – A woman was killed in southwest Bakersfield on Tuesday night after she was struck by a suspected drunk driver.

According to Bakersfield Now, the victim was struck on the 1300 block of Berkshire Road around 11 p.m. The driver then fled the scene.

Police later arrested the driver, a 21-year-old man who was under the influence at the time of the crash. He has been arrrested and is facing multiple charges including gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
