Young girl killed in City Heights hit-and-run

CITY HEIGHTS, CA – A one-year-old girl was killed in City Heights on Saturday evening after being struck by a hit-and-run driver, CBS 8 reports. 

The accident occurred on the 3900 block of Redwood Street around 6:45 p.m. The young victim walked into the street when she was struck by a 1999 Toyota 4Runner. She died at the scene.

The driver, a 45-year-old man, fled the scene but was later arrested. He will face charges for hit-and-run and DUI.
